Coaching Goal: Promote a healthy lifestyle through training and participation in multi-sport events.
When you look to select a coach, there
are many factors that need to be looked at before selecting a coach. Having a coach that is a world class
elite triathlete / runner might be an important consideration to some, however being a world class elite triathlete does not
necessarily mean that you know how to coach, teach, and advise. A world class elite triathlete / runner I am not. So if this is one of your prerequisites you
might as well move onto the next Google search for a coach. What I am is an accomplished triathlete / runner
who has gathered valuable experience through years of training and racing. I have gathered this from my
own experiences as well as from my past coaches. I have competed in over 95 triathlon races in all
triathlon distances (Sprint, Olympic, Half-Ironman, and Ironman). I have also competed in over 60 road
run races from 5K distances to marathon distances. My highlights during calendar years 2006-2008 included
the Walt Disney World Marathon in Orlando, FL, finishing the Ironman Arizona triathlon in Tempe, AZ. in April 2006 and 2008 ,
as well as competing in the inaugural Ironman 70.3 World Championship race in Clearwater, FL in November 2006. In
November 2007 I completed Ironman Florida in sub-12 hrs in Panama City Beach, FL. In my
years of racing, I have earned numerous 1st Place age group finishes as well as numerous top 5 age group finishes
in both triathlons and running races. The highlights of my racing schedule for 2010 are to race in the ING Miami Marathon,
and race in St. Anthony's Triathlon, Ironman 70.3 Florida, and at the Great Floridian Triathlon (Ironman distance race) in
October 2010 in Clermont, Florida.
In 2006 I was certified
by the USA Triathlon as a Certified level 1 Coach and was also a triathlon coach with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
Team in Training - Suncoast Chapter. I am also certified in First Aid and CPR. I have received
training from several USAT Continuing Education courses as well as RRCA Running Education courses and have experience in how
to incorporate and use Heart Rate and Power in training. In 2008 I was certified as a RRCA Running Coach. Triathlon and Running is a passion of mine, and if you were to select me as a coach I would bring
this passion to assist you in meeting your goals and objectives. It is always important to remember the reason we are training and participating in triathlon and running
races - it is to have fun! I will make the coaching experience enjoyable
while also getting you to where you want to be with your fitness. If you would like to choose me as your coach
or if you have questions for me, please email me or call me.
